Adele Gibson is a professional painter working mainly in oils. She has an MA in Fine Art obtained from the University of Brighton. She produces impressionistic, semi-abstract landscapes inspired by trees, meadows and the Downs as well as going further afield. Many of the paintings shown in the May Open house are based on Stanmer Park where Adele walks most days throughout the year. Adele loves Stanmer for it's many pathways with dappled light, ornamental trees and abundant bird song. She wants to convey the feelings of peace and well-being that she experiences when spending time in nature.

Adele's paintings are made with expressive and loose mark-making and she uses several layers/glazes of vibrant oil paint to achieve a depth of colour and feelings of joy and love of the landscape. All works are ready to hang and framed with fresh painted wooden frames.
