Clara Wilkinson is an artist who grew up in South London and is now based in Brighton. She studied at Central St. Martins and the London Guildhall also studying Fine Art at HKU, the Netherlands.

Clara’s botanical work is inspired by the landscapes and wild life of Exmoor, Southern Spain and the South Downs - where she lives with her three boys.

She works with oils, watercolours, ink, pen and pencil.

Clara is concerned with capturing what is ‘below the surface’. She likes building her paintings in stages, working quickly and allowing each layer to dry, sometimes wiping away, before starting another fine layer.

She is an avid drawer - capturing the stuff of every day - a vase of flowers, figure in a café, or hunched phone-scrolling teenager on the train.

Clara takes commissions for her work, sells prints and is opening her studio for her first summer exhibition as part of AOH festival. She is also one half of Living Wall Murals - creating finely painted wall art for commercial and domestic spaces.
