Hove Arts artist Emma Christopherson is once again curating Bright On, a vibrant community art exhibition set to illuminate the Brighton seafront in April. Open to artists of all skill levels—whether a first-time creator or a seasoned exhibitor—the event invites submissions that capture the essence of Brighton and its surrounding areas. Inspired by the local landscape, culture, and community, the exhibition welcomes any wall-hung artwork, from paintings and prints to mixed media, celebrating creativity in all its forms.
This year’s submissions are now open, with a deadline of 15th March. Artists are encouraged to take advantage of an early bird discount available until the end of February to showcase their work. Last year’s event was a resounding success, featuring 40 local creators and over 80 artworks in a joyful, collaborative celebration of place and shared identity. The exhibition not only highlighted Brighton’s rich artistic talent but also fostered a warm sense of community, uniting artists and visitors alike in appreciation of our vibrant home.
Emma is eager to invite artists to share their unique perspectives. “Bright On is about coming together to celebrate where we live and the stories we hold dear,” she says. If you create art, or know someone who does, this is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to Brighton’s cultural tapestry. Submit your work and be part of a dynamic event that shines a light on local creativity—because every voice and vision deserves a place in the spotlight.
